Schooling
I earned my Bachelors in Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising with a minor in Apparel Design from Central Washington University June 2023. While attending CWU I participated twice in the annual fashion show; I received the award for best in show, and judges choice for best ensemble. While in school I have had the opportunity to learn new skills, further hone the skills I came in with, and use said skills in real-world scenarios. I have also had the opportunity to practice my soft skills. Multiple team projects have allowed me to practice being one with the group as well as practice being a leader and mentor.
Professional Strengths
I have had the opportunity to put many professional skills to use while in school. I was employed through the Multimodal Education Center on campus. While in this position I learned and then taught other students the basics of the Adobe suite, Microsoft programs, virtual reality, and computer and camera basics. Skills like teamwork, professional writing, and self-starting were all integral parts of classes at CWU. The skill that received the most attnetion though, was my sewing. In the making of my collections, I focused on perfecting the practical aspects of sewing, while also incorporating new techniques.
Technical Knowledge
I have had the opportunity to practice technical skills such as Adobe photoshop, Adobe illustrator, Excel, Word, Powerpoint. I have also been tasked with creating a technical package from start to finish while in school. The creating of the tech packs required me to use a bit of each skill previously mentioned.
